Privacy Policy

Overview

Word Search Dojo ("the App") is developed by Michael Garza ("I", "me", "my"). This policy explains what data exists in connection with the App, how it's handled, and your rights.

The App is designed to collect as little data as possible. I do not operate any backend servers and I have no access to your personal information.

Data I Collect

None. I do not collect, store, or have access to any personal data.

Data on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to me:

• App Settings — theme preference, sound toggles, music selection, animation preferences. Stored via standard iOS/macOS UserDefaults.
• Custom Words — any custom word lists you enter in Settings. Stored locally only.
• Game History — saved games, puzzle state, statistics, and thumbnails. Stored via SwiftData and optionally synced to your own iCloud account (see below).

iCloud / CloudKit

If you are signed in to iCloud, the App uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your game history across your own Apple devices. This data:

• Is stored in your personal iCloud account — not on my servers
• Is encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest
• Is not accessible to me in any form
• Can be disabled at any time in Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud

iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Game Center

The App uses Apple's Game Center for multiplayer matchmaking and achievement tracking. Game Center:

• Is managed entirely by Apple
• Requires an Apple ID and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• Shares only your Game Center display name with other players during a match
• I do not store, log, or have access to any Game Center data

Game Center is optional. All solo features work without signing in.

Third-Party Services

No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services are used.

Data NOT Collected

The App does not collect:

• Name, email, phone number, or any contact information
• Location or GPS data
• Device advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• Browsing or search history
• Financial or payment information
• Health or fitness data
• Photos, contacts, or files outside the App
• Crash logs or diagnostic data sent to me

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App contains no advertising. Game Center requires users to be at least 13 years old per Apple's terms of service.

Your Rights & Choices

• Delete game history: Open the Journey tab, swipe to delete individual games, or clear all history from Settings.
• Disable iCloud sync: Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → turn off Word Search Dojo.
• Opt out of Game Center: Sign out in Settings → Game Center. Co-op features will be unavailable.
• Clear custom words: Settings → Custom Words → clear the field and save.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last Updated" date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
